European Week of Regions and Cities 2022: our commitment on civic monitoring for youth
Empowering youth to become integrity leaders: monitoring the EU cohesion policies and recovery funds

On 11 October 2022, the event “Empowering youth to become integrity leaders: monitoring the EU cohesion policies and recovery funds” will take place as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities, which celebrates its 20th edition this year. The online workshop addresses the importance of promoting the role of young people as integrity and anti-corruption leaders through the civic monitoring approach. Starting with key words identified by the audience, we will ask speakers and participants to provide input and ideas on how youth empowerment can play a crucial role in monitoring the implementation of the Cohesion Policies 21-27 and the National Recovery and Resilience Plans.

Helping us in this reflection will be among the guests: Lulua Asaad, coordinator of the “GRACE – Global Resource for Anti-Corruption Education and Youth Empowerment” initiative of the United Nations Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention; Gianmarco Guazzo, Community Manager of the project “A Scuola di OpenCoesione”; Alberto Vannucci, full professor of Political Science and Director of the Master’s degree course in “Analysis, prevention and contrast of organised crime and corruption” at the University of Pisa.

Also speaking during the workshop will be Giulia Norberti of mafianeindanke e.V., coordinator of the Erasmus+ project “You Monitor – Empowering YOUth to build MONITORial communities against corruption”, of which Libera is a partner and whose results will be previewed.
