EU YOUTH IN POWER is a new initiative led Libera and the CHANCE network, which relies on the energy, creativity, and civic engagement of Europe’s youth.
A Generation Ready to Act
Building on the success of previous projects , #EUYouthInAction and Youth in Connection, EU YOUTH IN POWER places young people at the heart of social transformation.
The goal is to give a new generation the tools to take an active role in building a fairer, more transparent Europe. Through workshops, training sessions, and remembrance events, the project reminds us that democracy must be defended every day, and by everyone.
This belief drives the CHANCE network, whose organizations are creating spaces for young people to learn, debate, take initiative, and act.
A United European Network
The project brings together 11 civil society organizations from 10 European countries, from France to Bulgaria, from Italy to Portugal, around a shared goal: strengthening civil society against the influence of mafias and corruption.
In total, more than 100 young people will take part directly in local workshops, while about 18,000 others will be reached through campaigns and international events.
Among the key moments to come:
- the Day of Memory and Commitment (March 21), honoring innocent victims of the mafias;
- awareness workshops on transparency, civic participation, and civic monitoring;
- three international training sessions on youth participation, the social reuse of confiscated assets, and freedom of information;
- a final event in Brussels on December 9, marking International Anti-Corruption Day.
From Memory to Action
EU YOUTH IN POWER goes beyond awareness-raising, it’s a genuine laboratory of citizenship.
Young participants learn to understand how corruption works, to identify paths for change, and most importantly, to make their voices count.
The project’s mission is to help communities resist systems of opacity and clientelism, by promoting social justice, democratic participation, and transparency.
An Engaged and Connected Europe
Co-funded by the European Union, EU YOUTH IN POWER is coordinated by Libera and the CHANCE network, in collaboration with organizations from Romania, Belgium, France, Germany, Albania, Portugal, Spain, Bulgaria, and Malta.
Together, they are building a shared vision of Europe and active participation.
